The Amboseli region in Kenya is undergoing extreme drought, largely exacerbated by the climate crisis.
Fair Start is partnering with the Amboseli Love organization under the guidance of the Rejoice Africa Foundation (RAFUG) to urge donations, via RAFUG.
Why give in this particular way? Many other organizations and the governments that support them are using the same ecosocial policies that created the climate crisis, with anthropocentric approaches to the environment, and an absence of child-centrism in things like family planning.
Amboseli Love and RAFUG are changing this.
Climate loss and damage payments are now being approved by governments. RAFUG, Amboseli, Fair Start, and others are all partnering and quickly scaling up because the questions remain what the true amount of compensation should be, and how that money should be spent. Given that not ensuring family planning pegged to the Children’s Rights Convention, or what is called child-centrism, is what helped create the crisis, we are interceding to urge the funding to go to climate restoration and child-centric policies. We are asking donors to lead by example.
We are asking them to give for that purpose with the understanding that child-centrism overrides other policies.
Fair Start also urges activists to directly target the fossil fuel bad actors who created the crisis to support child-centric policies and payments.
